ContactCORP is looking for production operative to join our client, a large format printing company based in Swindon, specializing in the manufacture of high-quality signage and banners. They are seeking dedicated Production Operatives to join their team on a permanent basis.
The ideal candidate for the Production Operative role must have experience in a production environment, preferably in large format printing, and a strong ability to work as part of a team to produce and finish products to a high standard.
Production Operative responsibilities:
- Printing: In conjunction with others, receive print-ready artwork files from the studio, load them into printing equipment, and print onto various sheet or roll-fed materials to the required quantity and quality.
- Cutting: Cut printed materials using cutting files supplied with job information through a flatbed cutter, ensuring the correct cutting tools are used for specific materials. Additionally, use the company's vinyl cutting equipment to produce finished self-adhesive lettering and logos.
- Laminating: Laminate various printed materials using the company's laminating equipment, ensuring laminates are bubble-free.
- Hand Finishing: Perform hand finishing of signs, including hemming and eyeleting banners, placing banners into cases, and applying various double-sided tapes to the back of signs. Work with self-adhesive vinyl’s cut through equipment, strip and tape finished lettering and logos ready for application.
- Packing: Pack signs ready for shipping, ensuring all parcels are robust and well-packed, including producing delivery notes and carrier labels ready for dispatch.
- Loading and Unloading: In conjunction with others, load vehicles for signs to be delivered by company transport or shipped by carriers, and unload material deliveries for the business.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience with flatbed and roll-fed printing and cutting.
- Vutek printer and Zund cutter experience would be an advantage.
- Previous sign manufacturing experience is advantageous.
- Essential experience working within a production environment.
- Manual working background is desirable.
- Proven record of working as part of a team is essential.
Additional information:
- Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
- Working pattern: 11:30 – 19:30 (Monday to Thursday), 11:30 – 17:30 (Friday).
- Own transport may be required, depending on location in Swindon
